How it all began...

From Terry Boatwright:
Three years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer and some wonderful friends of mine came together to help me with a burden that had become as malignant as the cancer – the financial strain of the medical bills. The tournament turned out to be a huge success, relieving some of my worries and aiding in my recovery as I witnessed the overwhelming show of support from friends, family and even kind strangers…not to mention the fun we had that day. Now it is time to pay it forward and help someone else in need…

James Cooper Darby, age 4
With Cooper’s infectious smile and love of sports, it is sometimes hard to believe he has Cerebral Palsy. Struggling not to fall during a tee shot, or shooting hoops with his friends, he manages to do most things he sets his mind to, in his own way. But he needs specialized therapy to get stronger. The family’s insurance covers only 2 months of therapy per year which is not nearly enough to accomplish all of the goals that Cooper has set for himself. Medicaid for children with disabilities is accepted in limited pediatric clinics, with long waiting lists.

At four years old, Cooper needs our help NOW to limit the effects of this disability and to improve his balance and coordination as his body grows. Funds raised through this tournament will be used to get Cooper the quality therapy he needs and deserves. With your help, we can assure that Cooper’s future comes first and help ease this financial burden on the family.

Join us for a day of support for Cooper Darby and help him realize his dreams of becoming
the next Tiger Woods, Larry Bird, or the next quarterback for the Gamecocks.
